Ernest Fraenkel is combining structural analysis, bioinformatics and biochemistry to predict the interaction of proteins. He expects that this work will ultimately lead to a better understanding of how signals propagate in cells, providing insight into the biology of cancer and development.
Fraenkel received his PhD in Biology from MIT in 1998, and came to the Whitehead Institute from Harvard University. Fraenkel is a 2001 Leonard T. Skeggs Jr. Fellow and has received fellowships from the Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Cancer Research Fund and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
